What type of information do you collect?
We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, we collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information and purchase history. How do you store, use, share and disclose your site visitors' personal information?
Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.  

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

How do you communicate with your site visitors?
We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. How long we keep information

Client notes will be held securely, with your notes and any identifying information held separately, for 6 years.  Your contract will be held as a paper copy in a lockable filing cabinet and in a separate location from your client notes.  Notes are kept on a computer which can be accessed only by the counsellor, password protected, VPN protected, fingerprint protected, and with any identifying information removed.

    • I have a duty of care to you (BACP, GPiA legal resource).  I will make every effort to speak with you - and/or contact you - should I become concerned that you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, are contemplating suicide, or are planning to end your life, or to cause harm to another person.  I may decide to contact your Emergency Contact or your General Practitioner.

  • Referral, BACP Good Practice in Action 057 legal resource:

  • I will use the following resources to help me make a decision:  my registration body’s Ethical Decision-Making Framework (BACP), BACP Ethics Officers, my Clinical Supervisor or a suitably experienced and trained professional should I be unable to access. 

  • My actions may also include consideration of safeguarding, particularly in the case of adult clients who may be “defined as vulnerable if they’re dependent on others for support, are at risk of neglect or abuse, or are unable to protect themselves from harm or exploitation” (BACP GPiA 030).  I will make every effort to discuss safeguarding after careful consideration, and would prefer to take action in collaboration with a client, however, in some circumstances this may not be possible and I will document my decision-making process and consult with professional referral services, my Clinical Supervisor, and consider talking to the BACP Ethics Officers.

  • If you remain unhappy with how we’ve used your data after raising a complaint with us, you can also complain to the ICO.
